MOSES LAKE - Amber Lloyd had 17 points and Crystal Lloyd finished with a triple-double of 11 points, 10 rebounds and 11 steals, but their efforts weren't enough to hold of Wilson Creek.

The gut wrenching 34-33 loss on the Columbia Basin Secondary School (CBSS) home court Tuesday drops the Lady Phoenix record to 0-1 in league play and 2-3 overall.

The first half scoring was held to a minimum as each team's offense struggled to find its mark as the Devils took a 14-9 lead at the half.

The second half of action saw more basketballs tickling the net as CBSS outscored Wilson Creek 24-20.

"Once again we came alive in the third and fourth quarter, but it was a little too late," coach Clint Scriven said. "We were able to get within one point with 12 seconds left in the game and got Wilson Creek to turn the ball over at our end with three seconds left, but Madison Hansen just missed the winning shot at the buzzer with three Lady Devils hanging all over her."

CBSS is back on the hardwood Saturday when the team hosts White Swan at 6 p.m.
