MOSES LAKE - Grant PUD reset its planned power outage for most of its Moses Lake customers to the early morning of Friday.

The outage lasts from about 2 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Areas impacted include north from along the Stratford Road commercial area to Road 16 NE, Cascade Valley, the former Larson Air Force Base area, north of state Route 17 and along Road 4 NE.

Crews will work on transmission lines to enhance reliability before cold winter weather, according to the district.

Customers with electronic needs for medical issues are recommended to call the PUD's customer service at 509-766-2505 to make necessary arrangements.

During the outage, the PUD recommends customers use flashlights instead of candles for emergency lighting, keep fuel-burning barbecues, gas stoves and generators outdoors, turn off and unplug sensitive electrical equipment, avoid opening the refrigerator or freezer and turn off the furnace, appliances and all but one light.

Wait 10 minutes after power comes on to turn the items on.

The outage could be rescheduled if it becomes extremely cold.
