It's December, and that means...

ROYAL CITY - Fourth and fifth graders in Mrs. Jacquie Eilers's class took on an assignment of writing about the month of December. The results of their efforts follow.

It's December, and that means this year I'll probably do something different from last year.

I'll go to my Uncle Mitch's house. He tickles me until I say stop. That's what I do at his house.

There is no school on the twenty-second and, on that day, I will go shopping for a fake Christmas tree. My family and I will build the fake Christmas tree. Then my family and I will decorate the fake Christmas tree.

That's what I'm doing different this year.

It's December, and that means decoration time!

We buy a tree. We decorate the tree with lights and an angel. We decorate the house with lights.

December also means snow. There's warm clothes, boots, snow men, snowball fights, and gloves. My favorite is snow ball fighting.

My dad and mom, sister and I have a snowball fight.

December also means foods! Hot chocolate with marshmallows. I like candy canes, cake, jello, cookies, tamales and posole. That's what December means to me.

I remember when I went to a resort, and there was snow up to my knees. My dad buried my gramma's car with snow.

Sometimes I like to play in the snow. I like to make a snow man because I make them behind the car. So when we go somewhere we run it over.

I like to be lazy in my pajamas. I watch TV. My favorite movie is H2O. That's why I love December.

It's December, and that means its snow time!

I hope it's not cold because I don't like being cold. If it snows I am going to build a snow man.

When I go home, we will decorate the tree for Christmas. We put lights and candy canes on it. After that we will watch movies and drink hot chocolate.

My favorite thing about the decorating is to put a star on top of the tree. I always put the star on when it is Christmas. I hope it snows in December, but doesn't get too cold.

It's December, and that means I do lots of things that I don't do in other months.

I can practice more multiplication because I have more time off. I would also have more time to read books. I'm working on reading faster. 

I want to take an AR test on every book I read. That's what I like to do in December.

It's December, and that means I hope I don't have the same party I did at Christmas last year.

It was boring last year because there was no one my age to play with at the party. My tio will call my grandpa, and I will ask my grandpa to come to the party. He will come for Christmas.

Every day my grandpa will come to our house and take me to soccer. I like to spend time with my grandpa, and that's what I do in December.

I like to play games lots of time. My favorite game to play is Call of Duty Black Ops. I like it because I could play any level and I can get other people in the game.

I like to play at recess. My favorite game is tag, then kick ball with my friend.

My Gramma and my Grampa and aunt and uncle are coming to visit us for Christmas. I eat cookies with my mom and my aunt.

My aunt knows how to make hot chocolate. That's why December is fun.

My family and cousins come to my house for Christmas. We like to play Uno at my house. My cousins and family eat the food that my mom makes for Christmas. That's what December means to me.

All the trees get old and leaves fall off.

At my family's house my cousins come over. My favorite cousin is Sergio. I like him because he plays Wii with me, our favorite game is boxing!

Christmas is also fun. We like the gifts that my family gives us, and we give them hugs.

We have different kinds of food to eat in December. Our favorite things are posole, Cheetos and soda. That is why December is a busy month.
