MATTAWA - The members of Cub Scout Pack 94 of Mattawa will be doing a food drive to benefit the Mattawa Area Food Bank this Friday, Dec. 16.

The Scouts recently visited the food bank and were given a tour by Mattawa Area Food Bank Board member Jeff Curtis. They got a glimpse of the many donations made available to patrons of the bank.

The Scouts will go through the community on their food drive. They ask persons who wish to donate to call Cub Master Steve Davis at 715-9020 an leave a message. Contributors may also leave donations on their front porches.

According to the Scouts, the most needed items are canned fruit (peaches, pears, mixed), canned vegetables (green beans, corn, peas) and canned tomato products (stewed, diced, paste, whole).

Also needed are cold cereals and boxed dinners. Contributors are asked not to donate products in glass containers.

The Mattawa Area Food Bank also accepts open bags of diapers.
