Sue Dehority

Sue Ann Dehority, known by many as a kind, generous women, passed away peacefully December 1, 2011 in Moses Lake, Washington.

Sue was born August 13, 1934 in Peoria, Illinois. She was the oldest of three children born to James Henry Graves and Margaret (Whitten) Graves.

She grew up loving to sing, read books, playing the piano and working hard as a dairyman/farmer's daughter in Wyoming, Illinois. After graduating high school, she attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois.

In 1955 she met the love of her life from El Paso, Illinois. Sue and Ray Elsworth Dehority Jr. were married June 18, 1955. Ray was enlisted in the United States Air Force. Together they raised their family in the military lifestyle for the next 20 years. Her favorite activities included traveling, camping, gardening, sewing and reading. She especially enjoyed visiting historical sites in the United States and in and around the European countries where her husband was stationed. Sue's treasured annual event was celebrating the 4th of July by gathering her family together to observe our country's independence. She was a dedicated military wife and continued to be an avid supporter of the Disabled American Veterans.

Sue was preceded in death by husband Ray Elsworth Dehority Jr. She is survived by daughters Michelle (Allen) Dodgen, Melissa (Jim) Tufts and Regina (Paul) Geary, brothers John and Bill Graves. She was blessed with five grandchildren; Cindy (Tyson) Morris, Larin (Melissa) Dodgen, Eric (Lea) Dodgen, Lisa Dodgen, Andrea Geary and eight great-grandchildren which she loved dearly. Family Graveside Service was on December 10, 2011 at Pines Cemetery in Spokane Valley, Washington.

Arrangements were entrusted to Carver Family Funeral Home in Moses Lake, Washington.
