MOSES LAKE - Grant County Sheriff's detectives are investigating what caused a Moses Lake man to reportedly shoot his brother during a confrontation.

Multiple calls came into 9-1-1 dispatch Thursday at around 10:45 a.m. from people who said they heard multiple shots fired at a residence on Stratford Road Northeast just north of the Moses Lake city limits, according to Grant County Undersheriff Dave Ponozzo.

Law enforcement personnel arrived to find the victim, 49-year-old Rojelio Adamé, suffering from wounds believed to be caused by a shotgun blast inflicted by his 59-year-old brother, Rolondo Martinez Adamé.

Both men live on the property, Ponozzo stated.

While it is still unclear what exactly led to the shooting, a confrontation is known to have occurred involving the Adamé brothers, Ponozzo stated, during which Rolondo Adamé allegedly aimed a shotgun toward Rojelio Adamé and fired once.

Rojelio Adamé was struck in the hand, leg and lower torso, and he and two companions reportedly fled to a location on Longview Street in Moses Lake. He was transported by Moses Lake Fire Department paramedics to Samaritan Hospital with wounds considered non-life-threatening, Ponozzo stated.

Rolondo Adamé was arrested without incident at the Stratford Road home and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first degree assault-domestic violence.

The investigation continues.
