People owning a parcel of land in the Moses Lake Irrigation and Rehabilitation District have a unique opportunity. This opportunity is not just to cast a vote, but to have our votes guarded and protected in a way that in the United States we have come to expect and demand. Unfortunately, this has not been the case for the MLIRD. We now have a new system designed to have an election that will be assured that the voters will decide the election!

After seeing the absentee votes being handled inappropriately in the 2010 election, I complained at the vote counting meeting, a letter to the editor and recently at yet another MLIRD meeting.

The MLIRD need a positive change.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mick Hansen in a very positive action. Mick Hansen has worked diligently to make sure that your vote and my vote will be protected. I am pleased to announce that we now get to elect who the most votes go to. This is the way it should be, with integrity.

I have lived in Moses Lake since 1966. The most influential change with the amount of algae growth in Moses Lake has been increased water flow determined by the Bureau of Reclamation. The major reason Moses Lake is clearer is more clear water flowing through.

Mick Hansen uses common sense, demands integrity, and desires to have the most cost effective, clean and clear water for our crown jewel, Moses Lake.

The MLIRD needs Mick Hansen as a director. Please place your precious protected vote for Mick Hansen.
