Annual Royal High football banquet on Dec. 12

ROYAL CITY - The Royal High football team, which had another in a long string of state playoff years, will have its annual awards banquet on Monday, Dec. 12.

The banquet will be held in the Royal High School cafeteria. It will get under way at 6:30 p.m. and will include the announcement of team members who made all-league.

Junior quarterback Alex Myrick, who led team to the state final 8 in 1A competition with his passing and running, leads the list of all-stars.

Myrick is the 2011 South Central A Conference first team signal caller. He is also a first team defensive back.

Also making the first team on offense were junior tight end Brady Dixon and junior offensive lineman Uriel Carmona. Others on first team were junior defensive lineman Christian Fernandez, junior punter Damien DeLaRosa and senior place kicker Pepe Gaxiola.

The SCAC second teams included senior running back Alex Ramirez, senior wide receiver Danny Vermeer, junior offensive and defensive lineman Carter Christensen, linebacker Dixon, junior defensive lineman Reed Lefler, senior linebacker Justin Edwards and senior defensive back Vermeer.

Receiving honorable mention were junior wide receiver Christian Guerrero, sophomore offensive lineman Collin Christensen, junior defensive lineman Kent Christensen, defensive lineman Lefler and senior defensive back Johnny Villanueva.
