Moses Lake buses in three crashes

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake school buses were involved in three fender-benders this week, none of which resulted in injuries.

Two crashes happened Monday at the same intersection near the Moses Lake School District bus garage on West Ivy Avenue.

At about 9:45 a.m. school bus driver Monty Joe Colver, 62, was stopped at a stop sign at Ivy and West Third Avenue when the bus was allegedly rear-ended by a Dodge pickup driven by Hope D. Irvin, 39, according to Moses Lake police.

Later that day, at about 3:15 p.m., a school bus driven by Debra L. Armfield, 51, was attempting to make a left turn from Ivy onto westbound Third Avenue when the bus struck a Toyota Prius driven by Robert M. Hansen, 44, a police report stated.

Hansen was allegedly driving out of a private driveway across Third Avenue and attempting to drive straight across onto Ivy, police stated, reportedly failing to yield to the turning bus. Students were off-loaded onto another bus and no injuries were reported.

The third incident was at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, when a bus sideswiped a vehicle on Tinker Loop near Larson Heights Elementary, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office log. No injuries were reported but further details were unavailable by deadline.
