I got a call at 06:30 this morning. My wife was on I-90 with a flat on one of her new studded tires. I was getting ready to leave on the rescue mission, when I got a text that the spare was flat, also.

No sweat, I have an air pump in the container with the 12VDC lug wrench. I plugged it into her tire and was fighting the wheel cover off, when I heard a voice behind me, "Need some help?" I glanced over my shoulder. Blue pants, with a gold stripe. Blue shirt with a gold badge. State Trooper hat. Beautiful sight!

He promptly put out a couple of flares, then came back and took my tools away from me. He changed the tire for us and kept his blue/red, blue/red, blue/reds on until both of us had regained the freeway.

Above and beyond. Just as I have come to expect from Washington State Troopers.
