On behalf of Samaritan Healthcare, please allow me to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the 11th annual Samaritan Healthcare Turkey Drive to benefit the Moses Lake Food Bank.

The generosity of our local community is confirmed each year when we look at the numbers. In excess of 1,000 individuals and businesses donated in one form or another to this event to benefit our local community.

Here is the tale of the turkey:

* 284 turkeys were bought and donated by the public, equating to over 5,000 pounds of poultry;

* 407 pre-bagged, $10 bags of canned goods;

* An unknown number of pounds of canned food and other food items;

* $8,130 in cash and checks were mailed in and/or given to our volunteers. The Moses Lake Food Bank will use all cash donations to purchase additional food products that are in short supply

This event could not have been successful without the support of our sponsors, and specifically the display ads and feature story in the Columbia Basin Herald. The interview on CBH TV was also a big hit in the community!

Again, thank you for supporting this event that benefits our local community.
