Big Bend cancels registration session

MOSES LAKE - Due to full classes for the upcoming fall quarter, Big Bend Community College canceled its Sept. 7 new student registration session.

"There are so few classes with openings that we need to advise remaining new students individually," said Bob Mohrbacher, vice president of instruction and student services.

Students applying for admission may only get into one class fall quarter and may not be able to reach full-time student status until winter quarter, Mohrbacher said.

Students who have not started the financial aid process must wait until winter quarter to receive aid. Students are encouraged to apply for winter quarter admission and financial aid now so they are ready to enroll in December.

Budget cuts have prevented the college from opening new sections of classes to meet demand as they have done in past years.

The college has eliminated many classes with low enrollment and diverted those funds to classes with high enrollment.
