Murder suspects surrender to police

EPHRATA - Twin brothers sought in the slaying of an 18-year-old Moses Lake man surrendered to authorities on July 28 to Ephrata Police.

Alfredo and Juan Silva of Soap Lake were wanted on suspicion of two counts of first-degree assault and one count of second-degree murder. They were booked into the Grant County jail, and interviews of both men were begun.

According to Sheriff Tom Jones, the unidentified Moses Lake man was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m. the same day in Soap Lake. An 18-year-old female and 19-year-old male suffered knife wounds that were not life threatening.

The names of the victims had not been released as of Sunday.

It was not clear on the 28th what sparked the incident at 718 Buttercup Street South in Soap Lake. Washington State Patrol Crime Lab technicians were gathering evidence at the scene.
