NAHL releases Showcase tourney times in September

WENATCHEE, Wash. - The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has released start times for the ninth annual Showcase Tournament, which will take place Sept. 14-17 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.

The two-time NAHL West Division Champion Wenatchee Wild will open the tournament with a 2:30 p.m. contest against the Janesville Jets on Wednesday, Sept. 14. The Wild will face the Aberdeen Wings the following day at 11:45 a.m.

 Wenatchee will play its third game of the tournament on Friday, Sept. 16 in an 11:15 a.m. tilt against the Corpus Christi IceRays and conclude play in the ninth Showcase at 7:30 a.m. the following the day against the Chicago Hitmen.

The Showcase Tournament traditionally attracts more than 9,000 attendees, including more than 200 college and professional scouts. All four of the Wild's Showcase Tournament games will broadcast on KPQ AM 560 and can be seen live Online via FASTHockey at www.fasthockey.com.

After the tournament concludes, the Wild will be set to begin their NAHL regular season schedule and open up with Alaska at home on Sept. 23-24.

Those two games begin a six-game home stand which includes Odessa (Oct. 14-15) and Kenai River (Oct. 21-22).

Their first road trip will be on Oct. 25-26 when they travel to play Alaska and then on Oct. 28-29 as Fairbanks is set to host two matches.
