Reader thanks helpers in bus trip mishap

On Saturday, July 23, 24 senior citizens took the Moses Lake Senior Center bus to Hells Canyon. It was an interesting and fun-filled day. Late in the evening, on our return trip, the bus had a problem with the lights flashing and we were south of Pullman and several hours from home. Our bus driver, Harold Schock, pulled off the highway to prevent an accident. Mary Kile, our hostess, called the center director, Carry Liles. Carry called several places trying to find a driver and a bus to come and pick us up, but she had no success. Then the Washington State Patrol was called. A patrolman arrived and escorted us to Ewan, Wash. Another patrolman escorted us to the Grant County line, and another patrolman arrived and escorted us home to Moses Lake. This letter is to thank the efforts of Harold, who remained calm and collected, to Mary, who kept us informed of what was taking place, to Carry, who worked diligently to get us home safely, and to the three WSP officers who escorted us, whose names I do not know. We were scheduled to be home around 12 a.m. but we finally arrived at 2:15 a.m. thanks to all the above named people's efforts.
