Norma Fuhriman

Norma Fuhriman, 91, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at Lake Ridge Solana Care Center. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Grape Drive Chapel, 925 N. Grape Dr. Interment will follow at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L N.E., Moses Lake. Viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m., Thursday, August 11,

2011 at Kayser's Chapel and from noon to 12:45 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12th at the church.

Norma was born in Rexburg, Idaho, daughter of the late Charles Andrew and Ivy Lucile (Dowdle) Squires. At an early age the family moved to Nampa, Idaho where Norma was raised and educated. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1938. Norma married Earl Miller Fuhriman on May 26, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They resided for a few years in Nampa and then moved to Jamison, Oregon, to farm. In October of 1954, Earl was offered a job in Moses Lake and they have lived here since. Norma taught piano lessons and had been the organist at the Moses Lake Second Ward for many years. She enjoyed staying home to raise her children, being a homemaker and working on genealogy with her husband. Their children remember many Thursday evenings spent doing genealogy work. Norma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her husband, Earl M. Fuhriman, Moses Lake; four sons, Stan and Charlotte Fuhriman and Steven and Nancy Fuhriman of Moses Lake, Mark and Linda Fuhriman, San Diego, CA and David Fuhriman, currently teaching in Russia; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Squires, sister-in-law, Thelda Squires and a great grandson, Kimball Ryan Fuhriman.
