MATTAWA - Karla Sanchez of Mattawa has been added to the board of directors of the Columbia Basin Health Association.

Sanchez works as the pastoral assistant at Our Lady of the Desert Catholic Church in Mattawa. She is involved with the finance committee and works with several youth groups.

"Karla's service background and eagerness to improve the community will add to the diversity needed to continue to raise the bar for our organization," said CBHA CEO Greg Brandenburg.

Sanchez is also involved in the Washington Student Leadership program, which offers bilingual leadership camps for students.

Sanchez moved to Mattawa in 1994, coming here from Mexico. She raises the number of CBHA board members to 12.

"Members of the board at CBHA are instrumental in providing the vision and support needed to continue to grow and develop as an organization," Brandenburg said.
