Chiefs, Vikings to play in Seattle as part of Emerald Classic

MOSES LAKE - The high school football season is only about three-plus weeks away from starting and the Moses Lake Chiefs will kickoff the 2011 campaign in grand fashion.

On Saturday, Sept. 3, the Chiefs will play their season opener in Seattle at CenturyLink Field against the Coeur d'Alene Vikings at the 2011 Emerald Kickoff Classic.

The game against the defending Class 5A Idaho state champions will be one of five contests that compose the classic.

The Chiefs and Vikings are set to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Moses Lake High School athletic department officials want to help Chiefs fans by helping them avoid lines at the Stadium. They are making tickets available at the athletic department office.

Costs are $15 for adults and students without an ASB card, $10 for students with a valid high or middle school ASB card, $10 for seniors 62-years-old and up, and free for children five-years-old and younger.

Other games will be, Blaine vs. Hazen (9:30 a.m.), Oroville vs. Darrington (noon), North Mason vs. W.F. West (3 p.m.) and Seattle Prep vs. Mercer sland (8 p.m.)
