Story of Beef slated for historical society

EPHRATA - The Story of Beef will be the topic of the Heritage gathering of the August meeting of the Grant County Historical Society board meeting.

The board meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Ephrata American Legion Post at 276 8th Ave. NW. It will be followed by lunch with guest speaker Jeannie Kiehn of George.

Kiehn, who works for the Grant County Extension office, was raised on her parents' cattle ranch at Hartline. She continues to be a Washington and National CattleWoman and is a 4-H leader.

Kiehn is one of 20 National CattleWomen to receive training for the presentation of the Story of Beef. She is required to make the presentation to 15 organizations not related to the beef industry.
