ROYAL CITY - The Royal High School yearbook will go digital for at least one year.
According to Superintendent Rose Search, the change to DVD instead of a regular hardcover book is an effort to make the yearbook affordable to more students.
"Fewer and fewer students have been buying the yearbook, and cost may be a factor," Search said.
Even though the yearbook is subsidized by the district, it has been priced at $60-70 in recent years, Search noted. As a DVD, it could be made available for $20.
In addition, it could include more of the events and activities that occur late in the school year.
