Balloon, wine fest set for September

QUINCY - The fourth annual Quincy Valley Balloon & Wine Festival will be celebrated on Sept. 10-11 at Parties on the Green.

The festival is held the same weekend as Farmer Consumer Awareness Days.

"After enjoying the festivities at FCAD, join us Saturday evening for the night glow," Parties on the Green's Kim Bacon said.

Parties on the Green is located at 7737 Road L.5 SW, a site that is also known as Twin Firs Turf.

A portion of the proceeds from the festival is donated to the Quincy and Ephrata Food Bank. Peek a Booth Photo will be raising money for Children's Hospital.

The festival will include tethered balloon rides. A full ride will be raffled at the FCAD. There will be powered parachute rides offered by the Six Chuter Powered Parachute Association. For more information on these rides, call Tim Vedder at 764-3003.

There will be balloon launches on Saturday and Sunday mornings, weather permitting. They will occur at 6 a.m. and will be held at Twin Firs.
