Shooting victim identified

MOSES LAKE - The name of the Moses Lake man killed in Thursday's shooting in Soap Lake has been released.

Luis Martinez, 18, died en route to a Wenatchee hospital. He was being transported by helicopter medivac with a gunshot wound according to Chelan County Coroner Wayne Harris.

The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. Thursday at a residence at 718 Buttercup St. S, Soap Lake, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

An 18-year-old female and 19-year-old male also received non-life-threatening knife wounds in the same incident and were treated and released from Columbia Basin Hospital.

Alfredo Silva and Juan Silva, 18-year-old brothers from Soap Lake, are being held at the Grant County Jail on suspicion of two counts of first degree assault and one count of second degree murder.

What sparked the incident is not yet clear, Jones said. Detectives are learning more as they continue to interview witnesses.
