Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 5th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Please sign the guestbook at www.kayserschapel.com Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.

Georgia was born March 14, 1923 at North Conway, NH, to Leon S. Chick and Annie L. Graves Chick.

Georgia is survived by her three daughters and three sons-in-law, Mike & Joyce Mulliken, Moses Lake; Dave & Janet Garrett, Moses Lake; and Nick & Donna Tommer, Ephrata. Five grandchildren; Dan Mulliken & wife, Lynai, Wenatchee; Chris Tommer and wife Tasha, Ephrata; Hillary Garrett Ostlund and husband Kjell, Portland, OR; Jada Tommer Molitor and husband Dan, Ephrata; and Jeff Garrett and fiancé Erika Bartlett, Bellingham, WA. ; nine great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, residing in Maine; first cousin Frank Graves, Redstone, NH, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband of almost 65 years, Mervin in 2008; her father, mother, sisters' Violet and Gertrude, brothers' Ralph, Charlie, Reggie, Rod, and Leon, Jr.; and infant twin-daughter of Janet, Judy Louise.

Georgia's employment included working at a resort in New Hampshire, where she met Mervin, to being a secretary for several public and private agencies. She also babysat and took in ironing so she could be a stay-at-home mom.

She kept herself informed and up to date about local and federal public policies. She enjoyed membership in Beta Sigma Phi, Ladies of Elks and Council of Catholic Women, and was recently President of Monroe House Residents' Council. She and Mervin enjoyed their involvement with Marriage Encounter and Cursillo.

Upon retirement, they loved traveling in their RV around the United States, and had a special love for the southwestern states.

Georgia grew up at the base of the White Mountain foothills, in New Hampshire which provided the perfect surroundings, instilling a passion for nature, beauty, creativity, and a "love of life". Losing her mother at the age of nine, she took that nurturing experience to care for her five younger brothers and continued throughout her life.

As a devoted wife she prepared breakfast for her husband almost every day of his life. She loved her family with a passion, and often spoke volumes without uttering a word. Grandson, Dan, said, "I love her and am proud she is my Grandma. I have many wonderful memories growing up because of her that will last a lifetime and I am grateful." One of her most recent joys was the births of two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She loved all equally and showed no partiality. "We thank you, mom/grandma for that!"

Georgia had a way of persevering her way through life. She had a pioneer spirit...leaving her home in New England in 1954 to pursue a new adventure in the "wild west," with her husband and three young daughters.

Georgia left a surprise legacy of love for her family when we recently found a journal recalling her earliest memories from the age of three.

She loved our Lord and lived her spirituality through her love of the Catholic Church; which began during her early years and consummated with her commitment to the church as an adult. One of the great qualities admired by many was her respect and acceptance of people from all Christian faiths.

Our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Monroe House staff and residents; the Moses Lake Hospice staff, especially nurse Tina, who not only held our hands but our hearts in our mother's last days.... Our Lady of Fatima, St Rose of Lima, Fathers Kerr & Felipe, and to the many who sent their love and prayers on Georgia's behalf and for her family. A special thank you to Karlene who stayed with Georgia her final nights, and who went above and beyond. "You helped make those last days peaceful where eternity touches earth through human vessels. Our sincere thanks"

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Salvation Army, Moses Lake Service Center, PO Box 1000, Moses Lake, WA 98837 or St Rose of Lima Catholic School, 520 Nat Washington Way, Ephrata, WA 98823.

"... dedicated to my parents, who with foresight and sacrifice; left home and familiar land in the east, to go west. Although not fully aware of it then; were being led by God's plan of destiny and ushered us into the land of our calling. I am filled with gratitude for the roots that possessed and impassioned me to pursue a God of completeness and wholeness." Donna Tommer July, 2008.
