and SEPA Checklist received by Grant County on July 18, 2011 from R

& P Emtman Family LLC (Designated Contact: Mark Kuchtyn, Celite

Corporation, PO Box 636, Quincy, WA 98848, 509-431-2951) were found

to be technically complete on July 22, 2011.

Notice is hereby given that a Conditional Use Permit application and SEPA Checklist received by Grant County on July 18, 2011 from R & P Emtman Family LLC (Designated Contact: Mark Kuchtyn, Celite Corporation, PO Box 636, Quincy, WA 98848, 509-431-2951) were found to be technically complete on July 22, 2011. PROJECT: A Conditional Use Permit and SEPA Checklist for a surface mine and mineral extraction operation for the purpose of removing diatomaceous earth on an approximately 106-acre site in the Agriculture zoning district of Grant County. The diatomaceous earth will be removed, screened, and stockpiled in order to be hauled off-site for processing. As the diatomaceous earth is removed, it will be replaced with clean fill materials. Topsoil will then be replaced, and each mined area re-vegetated. The estimated duration of this project is 8 years. ADDITIONAL PERMITS: Reclamation Permit, Air Quality Permit. STUDIES REQUIRED: None. LOCATION: The subject area is an approximately 106-acre portion of Parcel #15-0321-000. The site address of the subject area is 18537 Road 7 SW. It is located west of Beverly Burke Road approximately 6_ miles south of George, WA, near the intersection of Beverly Burke Road and Road 7 SW, and in the east half of Section 12, Township 17 North, and Range 23 East, WM, Grant County, WA. ZONING: Agriculture. PUBLIC HEARING: Hearing Examiner meeting tentatively scheduled at 12:00 noon, October 12, 2011, in Commissioners' Hearing Room of Grant County Courthouse in Ephrata, WA. At this time any person(s) may appear and provide testimony. CONSISTENCY STATEMENT: This proposal is subject to and shall be consistent with Grant County Code, International Building Code, and International Fire Code.
