SOAP LAKE ?- After not playing for a few weeks due to some academic ineligibility that delineated its lineup, the Soap Lake Eagles softball team finally got to descend about the diamond.

The only problem was, they rebooted their season with the best team in the North Central Washington 2B league, the Warden Lady Cougars, awaiting them.

In the end Warden moved to 13-2 overall and 10-0 in league play with a 27-0 win on Tuesday afternoon in Soap Lake.

Iris Rodriguez was the winning pitcher, throwing a one-hitter.

The Lady Cougars needed only nine hits over three innings to record the win as Soap Lake pitchers gave up 18 walks.

Stacee Villarreal went 3-for-4 and Liz Pruneda went 2-for-4 to lead the Warden attack.

"The Soap Lake pitchers had a hard time finding the strike zone," Warden head coach Wes Richins said. "Soap Lake playing with just nine players, is young and is working hard on fundamentals and just learning the game."
