RICHLAND - The Moses Lake Chiefs golf team continues to impress as the post season nears.

Behind a strong overall performance throughout their lineup, the Chiefs, finished second at the Richland POD played at Meadow Springs Golf Course (par 72) and have moved second place after four PODs to date.

Moses Lake shot a 339 score, behind runaway league leaders Richland's 312. Richland has won all four meets this season.

Now Moses Lake stands with 21.5 points, one point ahead of third-place Walla Walla, who slipped to fourth on Monday.

Gabe Porter and Randy McNair both shot team high 82s to lead the charge and finish tied for fourth.

Nick Sutherland's 86 was good enough to tie for ninth place and Kellon Roellich punched out an 89 to tie for 13th place.

Currently, McNair and Porter are tied for fifth place in the POD standings.

" We are learning how to play in such bad weather and truly fight for every shot," Moses Lake head coach J.R. Cox said speaking on the 20-plus winds that blew throughout the day. "Nick and Kellan were two freshman that really came through for us today and their scores are outstanding especially in those winds. Their two scores also propelled us to our finish today."

The final POD is on Monday in Moses Lake.
