BRIDGEPORT - After a scoreless first half, the Warden Cougars got the break they were hoping for.

Osvaldo Alba's free kick strike from 30 yards out was all Warden needed to record a 1-0 road win against Bridgeport on Thursday night.

"It was hard to play on a small, bumpy, field," Warden head coach Ed Aguilar said. "Bridgeport played very well on defense but Osvaldo's kick just went over the goalie's head.

Abraham Perez made two saves in goal for Warden (5-5, 4-2) who outshot Bridgeport 10-2.

OTHELLO 2, Toppenish 1

OTHELLO - An early lead was enough for the Othello Huskies to continue their impressive run of play in the Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC).

Goals in the eighth and 18th minutes allowed Othello to take control and survive a late Toppenish penalty kick as the Huskies took down another league heavy, 2-1, last night.

Othello (8-4, 4-1) outshot Toppenish 21-11 and got on the board in the eighth minute on a Jorge Campos strike and then Ivan Lopez followed with his tally 10 minutes later.

QUINCY 3, Grandview 1

QUINCY - A monkey is finally off the Quincy Jacks' back.

Coming into the campaign as the two-time defending CWAC champions, the Jacks stumbled to an 0-4 start in league play but on Thursday night that run of play ended.

A three-goal first half barrage carried the day as Quincy (6-5, 1-4) held on for a 3-1 win over Grandview.

"It's nice to get the win but they were also down five starters too," Quincy head coach Thomas Turner said.

Eduardo Perez scored in the 13th minute and the Jesus Diaz scored six minutes later to make it 2-0 in Quincy's favor.

Pablo Nunez's strike in the 27th minute wrapped up the Quincy scoring as the offense struggled down the stretch as the defense held tight.
