SUNNYSIDE - Black Rock Creek golf course (par 72) was the scene for a Tigers' stomp.

The Ephrata Tigers golf team rolled to a big Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) win yesterday, shooting a team low 314.

Andrew Whalen was the medalist, leading the Tigers with a 71, including a back nine 34, to help his team outdistance Prosser and their 371 score.

Other scores put up for Ephrata included a 79 for Mattias Dilling, 80 for Cody Cummings, and the 84 posted by Zach Dwyer to wrap the team's qualifying scores.

"There were personal bests in the match for Mattias, Cody, and Zach," Ephrata head coach Greg Hewitt said. "Tied a personal best in a match for Tyler.  As a team, 314 was the best team score the guys have put together so far."

Toppenish competed but did not have enough golfers to qualify a team score.

Their performance followed up a strong showing the night before as they rolled to a 23-stroke win over Chelan.

Ephrata scored a 342 as Chelan shot a 365 and Grandview finished last with a 492.

Mattias Dilling ended up leading the way with an 80, while Bryan Heer shot an 85 as did Zach Dwyer. Cody Cummings ended up with a 90.

Chelan's Ian Cowell held on for the medalist honor, holding off Dilling with a winning score of 79.
