WARDEN 7, Riverside Christian 5

YAKIMA - Marcelo Pruneda threw a complete game and the Warden Cougars offense was enough to generate a 7-5 win at Riverside Christian on Tuesday.

Warden (10-1, 4-0) rallied from a 4-3 deficit and held on for the Central Washington 2B South league win.

"Marcelo did a great job for us getting himself out of some jams," Warden head coach Dan Caballero said. "We also didn't help our cause by leaving runners in scoring position every inning.  We had bases loaded twice and couldn't get the hit we needed to break open the game."

Errors helped Riverside Christian stay in the hunt, but the batting of Cougars' Derek Pruneda, Cruz Pruneda, JP Martinez, and Gabriel Pruneda was key as all four boys knocked out two hits apiece. Anthony Platas hit a solo home run.

"We had two errors in the game that could have been costly," Caballero said. "But I was really proud of how the kids battled back and competed both at the plate and on the field."
