Reader angry about column

I know better than to fight with someone who buys printer's ink in 50 gallon barrels but Lynne Lynch's shallow and sophomoric article condemning the Moses Lake school system after her brief singular visit to the high school demands a response. I did not find her article courageous, I thought it was asinine. It was a complete disservice to the hardworking and talented teachers, administrators and support staff at the high school.

"Staff Wearing jeans" is her biggest concern?  Are you kidding me?  Has she walked through the CBH press room lately? Before you criticize the high school, volunteer and spend some time there.

Do students use foul language?  I am sure they do. But I have had the privilege of spending a lot of time with Moses Lake High School students on the ball field and in the classroom.  They are dedicated, talented, hard working young people.  The exemplify "Chief Pride".

And I know many of the staff.  They are the most dedicated, thoughtful, and caring people I know.  The particular teacher that you expressed a concern about is one of the most talented, courageous and ethical teachers in the building.  And she is underpaid!

Ironically your article was opposite the obituary of Duane Lietzke, a beloved teacher, administrator, coach and friend to many of us.  He was a great example of the awesome teachers that fill the halls of the high school and every other school in our district.  He, like many of our dedicated teachers, made a difference in the life of his students and made this world a better place.  Your article is insulting to his memory.

I am sorry that you are so narrow minded that you will not provide your children the benefit of the rich tradition of a Moses Lake High School education. Go Chiefs!
