Othello girls golf team performs well

OTHELLO - Taking on two shorthanded teams didn't diminish the quality of the Othello Lady Huskies' play on Monday at the Othello Golf Course (par 70).

On a blustery day, Othello shot a team score 373 in the presence of league rivals Toppenish and Quincy, both of which did not field enough golfers to qualify for team scores.

Delaney Towle shot a day's best, 89, while her teammates Katelyn Andrews (91), Mikayla Parris (96), and Kylie Kummer (97), earned qualifying scores.

"The girls were very happy with their scores," Othello coach Pat Ochoa said. "Some of them posted their best scores of the season.  Let's hope that they can keep up this trend of scores going down and the weather beginning to get a little warmer."

Quincy's Elizabeth Diaz shot a 117 and Janet Mendoza a 133 for the Lady Jacks.
