Sheriff asks help with 2009 burglary-assault case

EPHRATA - A 2009 burglary incident, in which a woman was assaulted, has been considered cold for some time, but Grant County Sheriff's detectives are hoping a drawing based on a description by the victim will warm things up.
Detectives have released a computer-aided sketch of the suspect in hopes of stirring memories. It is of a person described as a Hispanic male, 25 years old and five feet seven inches tall.
The suspect is described as having a muscular build and thick, short, black hair. The victim described the suspect's vehicle as being in poor condition.
"It is important to think about the possibility the getaway vehicle may not be in running condition today," said Sheriff Tom Jones.
The burglary incident occurred on June 26, 2009 near Quincy on Road 11.5 NW. Hearing a strange noise in her home, the victim went to investigate and interrupted the burglary in progress.
Startled, the suspect burglar punched the woman, breaking her jaw. The burglar then fled the scene in an older silver-colored vehicle, possibly an SUV or a minivan.
According to Jones, investigators followed every possible lead back then and have reviewed the case from time to time. The trail has gone cold, but the victim was able to help with the computer-aided sketch.
"We're asking citizens to look at the drawing of the suspect and to consider anyone who fits the description who drove a similar vehicle back in 2009," Jones said. "If anyone thinks they know this guy, we want to know who he is."
