Fire burns about 50 acres in Quincy

QUINCY - A fire burned about 50 acres of land near Quincy Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters from Grant County fire districts 3, 5 and 13 and the Ephrata Fire Department responded to the fire near the corner of Road Five and Road H.5, District 3 Fire Chief Don Fortier said. 

Firefighters responded at about 1:30 p.m. and the fire was out by 5 p.m.

Two structures were threatened by the fire, but none were damaged, he said.

"It appears to be a controlled burn that got out of control," Fortier said.
