MANSON - A Jacob Yamane no hitter combined with a relentless offense keyed a 20-0 Warden Cougars win at Manson on Friday.
Yamane struck out 10 and was one walked batter away from a perfect game.
Derek Pruneda went 4-for-4 with a grand slam, while Yamane also hit a homer going 3-for-4, and Ty Jesse and J.P. Martinez each went 2-for-3 for the Cougars (9-1, 4-0).
"We were able to play through the rain and finish the game in five," Warden head coach Dan Caballero said. "The kids did a great job patient at the plate and hitting their pitch. Defense did a great job running down the balls they put in play to help Jacob's strong pitching performance."
