Strong pitching keyed an Almira/Coulee-Hartline sweep at Davenport

DAVENPORT - Two strong pitching performances keyed an Almira/Coulee-Hartline sweep at Davenport yesterday.

ACH (7-1) won 18-4 and 14-4 behind the pitching of Sara Gloyn and Madeline Isaak.

Gloyn won game one behind a five-hitter while striking out four batters.

ACH scored 11 runs in the third inning to kicks tart the Lady Warriors' victory.

Allison Fox finished with a 4-for-5 performance with three RBI, Nikki Osborne went 3-for-5 with two RBI, and Isaak ended up 3-for-5 with four RBI.

Isaak earned the win in game two as she allowed six hits and struck out five.

Osborne had an RBI with a triple and a double to finish 2-for-4 and Kara Erickson ended up 3-for-4 with an RBI.

"They are looking really good but still have some kinks to work out coming off of spring break," ACH head coach Nicole Evans said. "Both pitchers are looking really good and not putting any extra base runners on base. They are really focused as a team and aiming on what they want to do for the rest of the season."

ACH has not begun the league portion of its schedule yet.
