Sheriff's office works cold case
This is a computer-aided drawing of the suspect in a cold burglary-assault case from 2009, based on a description by the woman who was the victim.
EPHRATA - Detectives are still working on an assault case from 2009 in Quincy and released a sketch in hopes of generating a lead.
A woman heard a noise in her home on Road 11.5 Northwest, near Quincy, on June 26, 2009. When she checked, she interrupted a burglary in progress, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.
"Startled, the lone suspect allegedly punched the woman, breaking her jaw. The suspect then fled the home, driving away in an older, silver-colored vehicle. That vehicle may have been a smaller SUV, minivan or small pickup with a canopy," said Jones.
The vehicle was described to be in poor condition two years ago and Jones said it may be disabled and an abandoned hulk.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, about 25 years old, standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He had a muscular build with thick, black short hair.
"Investigators followed every possible lead back in 2009, and have continued to review the case file ever since. Unfortunately, the trail for the suspect has gone cold," said Jones.
The victim gave a description and helped detectives to use computer software to generate a drawn image of the suspect.
"We're asking citizens to look at the drawing of the suspect, and to consider anyone who fits the description who drove a similar vehicle back in 2009," said Jones. "If anyone thinks they know this guy, we want to know who he is."
