Warren Lee Nichols was born August 9, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas, along with twin brother Loren. His parents, Ronald and Allene Nichols, moved to Elko, Nevada in 1960, where the boys attended kindergarten through fifth grade.

In August 1966, they moved to Moses Lake, Washington, where Warren completed grade school at Midway Elementary. Afterward, he went to Frontier Junior High, where he excelled in track. Warren was a 1973 graduate of Moses Lake High School. Four years later he married school sweetheart Melissa Bates, who subsequently bore him three children, Lindsay, Jennifer and Zachary.

Warren's local jobs included film processing at Fast Photo, radio sales and DJ at KWIQ - some may remember him as on-air personality "Barry West" - and store manager at Arrowsmith Appliances. He was working in the camera department at Pay 'n Save when he was transferred to the Tri-Cities in 1979. There, he also had success in car sales and store management.

A few years ago, Warren returned to Moses Lake long enough to complete truck driving school at Big Bend Community College, earning his CDL license. He said that driving big 18-wheelers had always been a dream of his. His last job was based out of Kennewick hauling mail.

On March 17, 2011, at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Warren passed away due to complications from lung cancer and pneumonia. He is survived by his parents; his brother of Kennewick; sister Denise Banks of Wichita; and from Portland, Oregon, his children and two grandchildren, Elam and Zahra.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2 pm at Riverview Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 605 N Road 36 (corner of Sylvester and Road 36) in Pasco.
