BENTON CITY - Bouncing back from a dramatic overtime loss against defending Class 1A state champs, Wahluke has been top of the Royal Knights' priority list this week.

Following a 3-0 non-league win against Warden on Thursday, the Knights made it two consecutive clean sheets with a 9-0 thumping off hosts Kiona-Benton, Saturday afternoon.

"Ki-be had a good result this season when they beat Naches, so we were expecting them to put up a fight," Royal head coach Jens Jensen said. "But with their spring break being this week they were only able to field nine players."

Adam Martinez (7-1, 6-1) and the Knights took advantage of the Ki-Be woes by scoring five times in the first half, with the senior scoring a hat trick in the match's first 22 minutes.

In the second half, Lupe Arceo scored a brace, with two goals tallied in the match's waning moments.

Christian Guerrero, Brian Gallardo, Jose Nava, and Enrique Torres, also scored for Royal in the win.
