NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS: CITY OF WARDEN STREET REPAIR PROJECT

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for the City of Warden

2011 Street Repair Project addressed to the City Clerk will be

received at the City of Warden, 201 South Ash Street, Warden, Wa.

98857 until 2:00 P.M. local time, on the 29th day of April, 2011

and then will be publicly opened and read. Any bids received after

the time and date specified will not be considered.

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for the City of Warden 2011 Street Repair Project addressed to the City Clerk will be received at the City of Warden, 201 South Ash Street, Warden, Wa. 98857 until 2:00 P.M. local time, on the 29th day of April, 2011 and then will be publicly opened and read. The project contemplated consists of ; Chip Seal (A,B,C,D)

A)  County Road - West 1st St. to Road 7.5 SE. (Approximately 3000' X 30'),

B)  Basin Street - County Road to End of Basin St. (Approximately 2100' X 30')

C)  Pine Ave. - East 1st St. to East 9th St.   (Approximately 3025' X 24')

D)  5th Street - County Road to Lincoln Ave. (Approximately 1800' X 25')

     Two Shot BST: (E)

E)  3rd Street - Pine Ave. to Cedar Ave. (Approximately 1080” X 30”)

F)  Gravel, Prep, 2” HMA on Fire Station Parking Lot (Approximately 6900 Sq. Ft.)

TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST  -   $ 143,000

All work shall comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Bid forms are available in the office of the City Clerk, Warden, WA.

Each bid must be accompanied by a proposal deposit in the form of a cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond to the council for a sum of not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, and no bid shall be considered unless accompanied by such bid proposal deposit, to be forfeited to the City of Warden in the event the successful bidder shall fail or refuse to enter into a contract with the city for the making and construction of the aforesaid improvement.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bonds for the faithful performance of the contract, including a performance bond and payment bond.

Before a contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the city will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low bidder to perform the size and type of work involved. Upon request, bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the city to evaluate bidder's qualifications.

The attention of bidders is directed to the application federal and state requirements and conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract.

In order to perform public work, the successful bidder shall hold or obtain such Contractor's and Business Licenses as required by state statutes.

The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities and to postpone the award of the contract for a period of time which, however, shall not extend beyond 30 days from bid opening date.
