MARDON RESORT - Warm spring winds have helped warm our surface water temp's on Potholes Reservoir to 58 degrees back in the sand dunes. Water temp's in the high 40 degree range have been reported from Goose Island and the entrance to the Lind Coulee arm of Potholes Reservoir.

On April 4, 2011 a 6-pound walleye was reported from the mouth of Frenchman's Wasteway where it enters Potholes at the state park boat launch.

Crab Creek walleye action has been slow.

In the seep lakes Corral Lake and Blythe Lake are open year round and both have boat launches. Plus, Corral and Blythe both provide shelter on a windy day. Soda, Long and Crescent Lakes are starting to produce walleye and smallmouth bass. The Seep Lakes of the Potholes Canal System will only improve with warmer weather.

On April 1, 2011 the lakes on the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge open for public fishing.

Warden Lake opens April 30, 2011. Warden Lake will receive 300 triploid trout this spring. These special trout average 1-pound, 8-ounces and they grow rapidly.
