UNIONS

| April 8, 2011 6:00 AM

Is this the way Americans are supposed to behave?

From the Milwaukee Journey Sentinel: "Members of Wisconsin State Employees Union, AFSCME Council 24, have begun circulating letters to businesses in southeast Wisconsin, asking them to support workers' rights by putting up a sign in their windows. If businesses fail to comply, the letter says, "Failure to do so will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means 'no' to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members.

Jim Parrett, a field representative of Council 24 for southeast Wisconsin, confirmed the contents of the letter, which carries his signature. But he added that the union was also circulating letters to businesses thanking them for supporting workers' rights."

This amounts to blackmail, bullying, lack of ethics, and several more words I will not mention here.

Then there is Stephen Lerner, a leader of SEIU (second largest union in America). He is trying to get union members to quit paying their mortgages and their credit cards, so they can bring down the banks and Wall Street. He wants them to believe that they will not lose their homes for at least a year and think of all the money they will be able to save up. He was gloating about what that would do to the rest of us. He doesn't care that even though they may save up maybe $10,000, they will be homeless and have the worst credit rating possible. And how long will that money last?

In New York City, there are 1,200 teachers who, instead of teaching, are just taking care of teacher-union business. (Paid by taxpayers, of course.)

Better put the skids on unions before they destroy what is left of our country. They will be the one's running the country instead of the government.
