PUD LUNCHEON

| April 8, 2011 6:00 AM

The general manager of the PUD recently cancelled the 2011 luncheon held annually for Grant County PUD retirees. The event is a 25-year-plus tradition that provides retirees an opportunity to learn about what is going on at the utility. It was canceled because, as the manager stated in a letter to all retirees, "the budget constraints keep us from funding it." What a joke. The average cost of the luncheon for the last several years has been $2,250 and it is always held at a local business. And, Mr. Manager, your pay raise this year was $5,410. Get real, and while you are at it, work on being a little more transparent with that billion-dollar facility of ours (customers/owners of Grant County) that you manage.
