BUDGET CUTS

These proposed house budget cuts in HR1 are merely window-dressing for a political agenda that will surely put us into a deep recession if enacted. Only corporations and rich people, like the Koch brothers, will profit from these draconian cuts to our nation's social structure. Our nation was built on the principles of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, for everyone, not just those born into a family trust.

What is this insanity, this insatiable greed for more profit, going to stop? Just how much more profit do the rich really need? And at the expense of the welfare of everyone else and our nation?

Remember these words written on the Statue of Liberty?

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Every citizen, whether in red state or blue state, rich and poor alike, should read this again, which a humble heart, an open mind, and with gratitude to know what it is to be an American! This is our heritage, our future too! To believe or act on anything less is un-American and anit-God! What would Jesus cut if He had a vote?
