Floy Draney, 97 of Filer passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at River Rock Assisted Living in Buhl. Floy was born January 14, 1914 in Paul, ID to Frank Hart Manning and Martha Fowles Manning. She was one of eight children and grew up in the Paul and Burley areas, graduating from Burley High School. She worked in Ogden, Utah and also attended secretarial school for a few years. She married Floyd Draney in Burley at her parents' home on December 27, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah Temple on July 18, 1935. She and Floyd farmed in the View area, south of Burley, raising their family before moving to Moses Lake, WA in December, 1952. After living in Moses Lake a few years, they moved to Warden, WA where Floyd and his brothers opened a John Deere Implement Business, Napa Auto Parts Store. Floy worked for many years at City Hall in Warden. Floy was a wonderful baker and cook and when her family was growing up there was always homemade bread, good cakes and pies. She sang in a trio while living in View where they performed at different functions. She always sewed clothes for her family and later enjoyed making quilts. She was an avid reader her whole life, knew what was going on in the world, and very capably expressed her views and opinions. She felt that music was very important and all of the family had music lessons. Her husband, Floyd died in December 1967 and in 1978 Floy moved to Twin Falls and later Filer. Floy is survived by her five children: Don (Carolyn) Draney, Diane (John) Ensunsa, John (Linda) Draney, Brian (Sharon) Draney and Vance (Diane) Draney; eight grandchildren: Anita Coriell, David Ensunsa, Gina Ensunsa, Jason Draney, Juli Draney, Peter Schrag, Ian Draney, and Shane Draney as well as nine great grandchildren: Monica, Nathan Cody, Amaya, Nicholas, Broc, Sophie, Ivanna, and Esther; one great great grandchildren Corinn; one sister Ivy Brown and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Draney and her granddaughter, Annette Roberts. The family would like to thank all the staff at River Rock Assisted Living Center in Buhl for the loving care they all gave our mother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls.
