No. 1 girls doubles wins

MATTAWA - Gladys Martinez and Andrea Robles teamed for a 6-1, 7-5 win in girls No. 1 doubles to highlight twin 5-1 losses for the Wahluke High girls and boys teams in tennis at Kiona-Benton last week.

On the boys side, Angel Ortiz and Elvin Muñoz scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory in boys No. 2 doubles. 

Some of the losses were battles. In No. 2 singles, Josue Cuevas forced a tie-breaker in a 0-6, 6-7 defeat. In No. 1 girls singles, Tereza Nevarez forced the first set to 5-7 in a two-set defeat.
