Readers pleased with lake shore cleanup

I would like to commend the Moses Lake Irrigation and Rehabilitation District (MLIRD) for sponsoring the annual Lakeshore and Lake Area Cleanup on Saturday. My husband and I joined in this year for the first time and had such a great experience. 

First, we were served doughnuts and coffee and cocoa at the Moses Lake Fire Department station. Then we were given a map of our destination and four trash bags. 

We headed out to the lake and found some really interesting debris and some that was not so much. 

We met some lovely people that were also volunteering that made it even more fun. 

After we finished (in just a couple of hours), we returned to our starting point and were served chili and corn bread with honey. 

Everything was so well organized. Everyone was so enthusiastic. 

We were pleased to see so many young people out there helping too. What a great community effort. Thank you everyone.
