Reader grateful for youth in Moses Lake

| April 1, 2011 6:00 AM

I once lived in the wonderful town of Moses Lake and will never forget it and all my dear friends that were a part of my life then. They know who they are and I sincerely hope that all their expectations have been achieved. I am well and recently retired. I have three great kids and a wife that still loves me after all these years. I owe a lot to the upbringing I got in Moses Lake. You that live there now should be grateful that you live in such a great town. I grew up swimming in the lake and remember going out to the sand dunes back behind Westlake. I remember the cranes and carp along with the flocks of ducks and how I tried to catch them under water but never could. It was a great time going to Frontier Junior High and having Mr. Hall get after me and Mr. Lietzke tell me to get busy. It's amazing how things work out but it is so wonderful that one can make their own way and do the best that they can with what God gave them. I was fortunate to have lived in your town and will never forget it for as long as I live. Thank you Moses Lake and all the wonderful people that made it possible.

I will never forget those beautiful faces and the youthful beauty of being young and ready to take the world on.

I am, and will forever be, a Warrior.
