GRANT COUNTY PROSECUTOR
Reader endorses Albert Lin
We certainly deserve good enforcement of the law in Grant County, especially when you consider law enforcement takes about 70 percent of our county budget. I've known Sheriff Frank DeTrolio for over 25 years, and feel that he does an outstanding job apprehending suspected lawbreakers. The Grant County Sheriff Department has a good staff and leadership. Where things seem to break down, is in the County Prosecutor's office.
Our current prosecutor puts his emphasis, it seems, on administration, which is an important aspect of the job. But primarily, he is an attorney, and should have extensive experience in superior court, to handle the major trials, and to train his new attorneys.
It has came to my attention, that the current prosecutor has not tried a case in superior court! How can we have law and order? How can he train his deputies? Why does the County lose so many cases? A recent one, where two men were tried for sexual assault, both signed confessions, and a jury of 12 says the prosecutor did not prove his case. How can we be safe, if the sheriff does his job and the guilty walk away free?
Albert Lin has 10 years of experience in superior court. Saving money in the prosecutor's office is not the prime job for the prosecutor, and does not require an attorney. I want a lawyer with experience and ability to protect my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Please examine your conscience and consider what's important, and vote for Albert Lin. Thank you for giving him your consideration.
