GRANT COUNTY CORONER
Reader backs Craig Morrison
I support Craig Morrison for Grant County Coroner. Aside from the fact that Craig is a very competent, caring and professional local businessman, understand that this position is more medically oriented than anything else. In larger jurisdictions, the position is referred to as "Medical Examiner" and it too requires a medical background. Craig Morrison's formal education includes pre-medicine, forensic pathology and an impressive curriculum of classes completely specialized around the human body and the science of death. Along with an impressive pre-medical and scientific oriented resume, Craig Morrison has been directly involved in serving the survivors of over 6,000 deaths. Morrison has served as a Deputy Coroner for over 20 years. He has direct experience relating to the Coroner's position and the investigation and processing of death scenes. When a death occurs with suspicious circumstances, qualified active law enforcement personnel are appropriately involved. With a team approach, the Coroner, with a scientific medical orientation, and Law Enforcement personnel complete all details. The Coroner takes care of the medical side of the equation while active Law Enforcement personnel complete the legal side. This brings balance to the process. In the unlikely case that the Sheriff is incapacitated, his very competent Law Enforcement Administration would continue to function and the Coroner would assist as something of a business manager for the very short period before an interim Sheriff could be appointed. Craig Morrison has the right education and experience to serve the citizens of Grant County as the Coroner.
