DISTRICT COURT JUDGE

Reader endorses Patrick Earl

This is to advise you that I fully endorse Mr. Patrick Earl's candidacy for the Grant County District Court position. As a retired special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I recall the many judges that I have worked with and appeared before on the federal level over the course of a thirty year career. While in charge of conducting the investigations for the indigent defense clients in Grant County as a legal investigator, I observed several other judges both on the superior court and district court levels. I am well acquainted with the requirements for a good judge. Patrick Earl has worked as a defense attorney in Grant County for many years and is already familiar with the system. With him, we don't need to re-invent the wheel.

We need someone who is tough, yet aware of the need for mercy ... someone who can see both sides clearly and rule with both compassion and justice. Patrick Earl played on a college football team that won a national championship. He is tough. He also has served his own family and extended family and friends with tenderness. He is compassionate.

In a county with an increasing level of Hispanic population, Pat's fluency in Spanish will serve us well.

Join with me in passing the gavel to Patrick Earl.
